Brothers Krishna, who has over 25 years’ experience running a hotel and restaurant in Nepal, and Bom, who served as a Gurkha, opened The Yak & Yeti six years ago, providing authentic Nepalese cuisine in a cosy first-floor location. Beautiful simplicity enhances the dining experience here, with wooden tables, patterned cotton runners and brass bowls loaded high with lean meat and rich sauces.This wonderful establishment takes pride in using the finest and freshest ingredients to create an extensive menu that is guaranteed to delight. To start, plump for the delicious Nepalese style pork ribs, flavoured with salt and pepper and Nepali spices and chilli, or the deep-fried marinated salmon served with tomato chutney. For a delightful main course, the Annapurna chicken comes highly recommended, as does the slow-cooked lamb served with black eyed peas, potatoes, bamboo shoots, and fresh tomatoes.
