The Whole Earth Thai Cafe and Bistro
Tucked away neatly between the pedestrianised shopping streets of Church Street and Priory Street in the town of Monmouth is this popular bistro-style café. One of Monmouth's most inviting cafés and restaurants, The Whole Earth Thai café and Bistro serves traditional English food alongside authentic, freshly prepared Thai food. By day this is a charming place to come for freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes, teas from around the world and steamers. A café-bistro with a cosmopolitan edge, Whole Earth provides everything from traditional British afternoon teas, to Thai salads and vegetarian options. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, owner Prae Hamilton and her friendly team prepare delicious, authentic Thai cuisine. Think tom yum soup, massaman curry and a particularly delicious pad Thai that'll have you recalling holidays in Thailand. Whole Earth is not licensed to serve alcohol, but you can bring your own bottle to enjoy with your meal. Or, if you prefer, there's an array of soft drinks available. In summer it is possible to sit outside in the courtyard and, as the nights draw in, Prae lights the fire and the restaurant becomes a warm and welcoming shelter from the wind and rain. If you want to enjoy some really delicious Thai cuisine in the comfort of your own home, you'll be pleased to hear that every dish on the Thai menu is available to take away.
