A visit to Time & Beef must be made with caution, as once you’ve stepped inside the hip environs of this burger temple, there’s a good chance you’ll be hooked. Boasting a unique concept that enables diners to create their own burger, this place offers more than your average burger joint.
On arrival you’ll be presented with a tick-box order form that allows you to build your own burger in five simple steps by choosing the toppings, cheese and sauces you desire. You might be tempted by beef, Welsh lamb, or perhaps a chicken burger. Vegetarians can choose the chickpea and sweet potato, oyster mushroom and hickory barbecue, or black bean and chipotle burger. You can then top the burger with the likes of pulled pork, chorizo, bacon and guacamole, and finish with a dollop of sour cream, sweet chilli, salsa or garlic mayo, to name just a few. Finally, you get to name your burger – the more creative the better.
Each juicy burger is handmade in the kitchen fresh every day and the team honours local suppliers so only quality, fresh ingredients make it through the kitchen doors. For instance, meat comes from Jeff of award-winning butchers, Braithwaite & Sons based just across the road, and burgers sit between artisan buns baked by award-winning baker Alex Gooch. With Italian coffee, tipples from Newport Brewery and a whopping 50 cocktails available, you could easily visit every week and try a new concoction – what’s to stop you?
