Right in the heart of Cardiff city centre and just minutes from the central bus and train stations, St David’s is a hub for shopping and eating out in Wales.

You’ll find forty-plus restaurants and cafés here, meaning you’ll never go hungry, no matter what the time of day or mood you’re in. Whether you’re visiting Cardiff for a mammoth shopping spree or simply coming to explore a new city, St David’s is the place to head for good food. By good food we don’t mean expensive food – we mean satisfying, lick-the-plate, share it on Instagram, delicious food. From sushi to sundaes, burgers to burritos and from pain aux raisins to the perfect risotto, you’ll find everything you could possibly fancy here.

With some of St David’s cafés opening as early as 6.30am, even the earliest of risers can get their morning latte and bacon bap or pastry from Eat, Costa or Starbucks. If it’s a big breakfast or brunch you want, Carluccio’s and Cosy Club are hard to beat.

For lunch there’s everything from sandwiches with fabulous fillings (try SOHO Coffee or Pret a Manger), to sweet and savoury crepes from Crepe Affaire. If you have time for a more leisurely lunch, head to one of St David’s restaurants in Eastside or The Hayes. When the sun’s shining you can sit outside Jamie’s Italian, Wahaca, Wagamama, Carluccio’s or GBK and take in the atmosphere on one of Cardiff’s prettiest and oldest boulevards while you tuck in. Dinner at St David’s can be as fancy or casual as you’re feeling – dress up and treat yourself to cocktails with your steak at Café Rouge or order up a burger and frozen custard at Shake Shack.

Want to make a night of it? See a show at St David’s Hall, catch a film at Cineworld or go to a gig at the Motorpoint Arena then settle in for some comfort food – from delicious chicken at Nando’s to pizza at Zizzi, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Many of St David’s restaurants stay open until 11pm or later, so night owls have plenty they can peck at.

St David’s even has a foodie newsletter, Eat Club, that you can sign up to receive foodie news, offers and prizes. In case all of this isn’t enticing enough, don’t forget that St David’s is home to over 160 shops, many of which are exclusives within Wales, including John Lewis, The White Company, AllSaints, Vivienne Westwood and Michael Kors.
