The Cricketers is a traditional pub set in a beautiful converted townhouse, just a stone's throw away from Glamorgan's cricket ground and a short walk from the city centre and the Millennium Stadium.

Head chef Chris Brown places great emphasis on teaming fresh produce with quality cooking. His menu changes seasonally, while a daily specials board offers exciting alternatives and the chance to sample a dish you've never tried before. Starters range from smoked haddock risotto balls to slowbraised beef terrine with horseradish cream. For mains, be tempted by the pork belly with curried chickpeas and winter greens, or pan-roasted cod loin with herb mash and a cheese sauce. To end your meal, The Cricketers' chocolate and walnut tart is a firm favourite.

If nothing else, be sure to drop by for Sunday lunch, which is a big event here. Freshly prepared vegetables, perfect roasties and Yorkshire puddings complement juicy roast beef or Welsh lamb. The Cricketers also serves a good selection of quality Welsh ales from Evan Evans brewery. Enjoy a pint of the award-winning Cwrw by the open fire in winter, or soak up the sun in the beer garden in summer. The Cricketers offers a reason to visit, whatever the weather
