Cardiff Bay is a popular destination that offers a great range of attractions, entertainment and myriad bars and restaurants. It's no wonder that the area draws thousands to the waterfront every year. One of the newest venues on the block is the uniquely named Punk Panda, located on the corner of Mermaid Quay.
This new venue successfully delivers high-quality cuisine in an individual and original setting. The decor is modern and the atmosphere relaxed. Choosing what to dine on is easy thanks to several wide-ranging menus. During our visit, we were tempted by a number of barbecue and grill options. We finally settled on spare ribs and scallops for starters, which came beautifully presented on sleek slate plates. For mains, the mouth-watering steaks were faultless. My partner chose tender succulent sirloin whilst I opted for a venison steak cooked medium-rare. Both were sublime, cooked to order and served alongside carefully selected sides from an impressive list that complemented the meal perfectly. To round off an enjoyable evening we shared a heavenly vanilla and chocolate panna cotta, served with fresh seasonal berries. Service throughout the meal was first class.
