Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The imaginative menu offers plenty of variety and changes two or three times a week, offering excellent locally-sourced cuisine at reasonable prices. Find steaks and pasta, fish dishs, salads and beautifully created starters. Perhaps start with baked field mushrooms served with crisp salad, Parma ham and a rarebit glaze, then move on to grilled sea bass on pancetta rosti potato served with cherry tomato salsa. Remember to leave room for the legendary desserts such as chocolate mascarpone cheescake with orange. Well-kept ales join soft drinks, Welsh water and cider on the drinks list, and the wine list is well compiled with an eclectic mixture of Old and New World varietals, many of which are served by the glass.
The garden is delightful in summer with shrubbery and trees sheltering the lawns and plenty of tables under parasols on the patio terrace. Should you over indulge, it is a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll around the village or indeed on the nearby hills or Ruppera Castle. A perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of life.
