The party atmosphere of Viva Brazil hits you straight away - this is a packed rodizio restaurant buzzing to the sounds of Brazilian beats.

Once seated, our friendly and informative waiter recommended a fantastic Brazilian red from the extensive wine list and gave us a quick explanation of how the rodizio works. The concept is simple - you enjoy different meats carved by a passador at your table. You can have as much or as little as you like, plus there is a buffet island offering a range of salads, vegetables, speciality stews and sauces. There is a vegetarian rodizio and the option to add fish dishes - plus a huge range of cocktails to choose from. A meal at Viva Brazil is more than just a meal - it's a theatrical experience.

We managed all 15 of the meats (you have a start-stop sign that you can turn over when you want a rest) and everything was fresh, hot and tender. Highlights included marinated chicken thighs and picanha - the Brazilian equivalent of sirloin steak - that was absolutely superb. The surprise hit of the night was the tasty chicken hearts, a popular beer snack in Brazil. Whatever you manage though, make sure you save room for a pudding; my guava and passionfruit cheesecake was delicious
