Having run a restaurant together for 12 years, the O'Donnell girls pride themselves on sourcing the best produce from the length and breadth of Scotland. Jacqueline, with her outstanding cooking style, insists that you needn't go anywhere else when you are spoiled with such a wonderful larder on your own doorstep. Her wee sister is the host at the front of house, greeting you with a warm familiar welcome that all of their regulars have come to appreciate. If it's a light lunch or a delicious dinner you're after, they can cater for all, even if you just want a coffee and some of the home-baked traditional goodies. The Sisters Jordanhill is an excellent neighbourhood venue, with a special secret garden to enjoy on those warmer days.

The restaurant's tucked-away entrance often goes unnoticed, but those in the know are part of a hush-hush society whose motto is simply 'seriously good food'. The restaurant has a wonderful bohemian feel, decorated in earthy browns and soft greens. The Sisters' warm, welcoming interior with its rustic stone walls makes it the perfect setting for homely comforting food and service. The girls take great pride in sourcing their ingredients from the best suppliers, all of whom are now good friends - Sean and Bernard the fish men, Craig the game purveyor, Robin the Arran vegetable farmer, Evan (who brings scallops) and the McLeod family from Stornoway who often stop for tea after delivering the finest black pudding.

Enjoy Islay scallops with Isle of Mull cheese soufflé, followed by a thick slice of tasty glazed ham from the finest pigs in Scotland served on a steaming pile of rumbledethump tatties and crisp buttered cabbage. Don't forget to leave room for pudding though - choose the famous puff candy meringue or the finest Scottish cheese with home-baked oatcakes.

The food here is so good that you'll want to make it at home - why not pop along for a cookery demonstration evening with big sis, Jacqueline, who has lots of ideas on how to effortlessly entertain at home.
