A jewel in the heart of Leith, La Cerise has just celebrated five years as the area's destination coffee shop. With fast and friendly service, you're sure of a warm welcome every time. A stone's throw from the Water of Leith footpath and the Royal Yacht Britannia, La Cerise is chock-full of all you need for a healthy breakfast, delicious lunch or an afternoon treat.

Celebration cakes for every occasion are the speciality here. Every creation is a love letter to Great British baking, with a generous touch of Continental flair. In this renovated Victorian bakery, complete with period ceilings and original oven, husband-and-wife team Martin and Claire Wilson have lovingly created the perfect marriage of cake and ice cream. Every day the cabinets groan with a huge selection of fresh cakes and desserts, from feather-light mousses to voluptuously rich chocolate tarts, all made on the premises. The award-winning artisan ice creams and sorbets are perfect partners, and, with new flavours being launched on a regular basis, they're a hit with ice cream lovers of all ages.

Seasonal daily lunch specials include a wide range of lasagne and quiches, along with sandwiches, panini and deli-salads; all available to take away, they're perfect for picnics, not forgetting a slice of cake to complete your meal
