Hadrian’s is a much-loved brasserie set within The Balmoral Hotel. Popular with hotel guests and discerning Edinburgh locals alike, the buzzing brasserie offers delicious cuisine in an informal ambience. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu at Hadrian’s has a strong international influence with a classic Scottish twist. Executive chef Jeff Bland has created an à la carte menu using the finest seasonal produce Scotland has to offer. Hadrian’s Balmoral smoked salmon is a signature dish featuring capers, shallots, honey-mustard dressing and black bread. Select from classic mains such as haggis, neeps and tatties, roast corn-fed chicken with cocotte potatoes and shallot red wine jus, and Chateaubriand for two with Béarnaise sauce and hand-cut chips. Desserts such as rum baba and apple tarte Tatin are divine, as is the light lemon sponge with Perthshire raspberry sorbet. Sunday lunch at Hadrian’s is a traditional affair. A roast of the day is served with all the trimmings, accompanied by a live jazz band on set dates throughout the year. Hadrian’s also extends the warmest welcome to its youngest VIPs, with a fabulous children’s menu for those under 12.
