Chinese and East Asian
Calming and luxurious, China Town has built a reputation as the place to go for excellent Cantonese cuisine. This is proven by the various accolades it has received for the last three years running, including The List magazine's Hitlists Award, and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. Chef-owner Thomas Chan has a skill for seafood, so it was inevitable that we would be seduced into ordering fish. First up was a flavoursome soup - chunky pieces of fish, prawn and crab in a delicate broth. This was quickly eclipsed by soft, creamy scallops teamed with emerald peppers on skewers. Dressed in fine greenery, whole sea bass appeared dramatically on the table, only to be denuded deftly of its head and bones, leaving us with a delicate spring onion and ginger-infused fish. Past experience means I know this is only part of China Town's repertoire, so another feast is inevitable.
