Brasserie Les Amis
Brasserie Les Amis is just a short walk from Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland, the Scottish National Gallery and the city’s picturesque Old Town. Meaning ‘friends’ in French, the Brasserie’s name is inspired by the Auld Alliance of 1295, when Scotland and France formed a long-lasting friendship. The menus also reflect this kinship, as Brasserie Les Amis serves the best of French and Scottish cuisine, accompanied by beautiful wine, craft beer and spirits. The staff here are passionate about great food and hospitality and take pride in providing a superb dining experience.
Treat yourself to an artisan coffee or tea with delicious French patisserie, Viennoiserie or Scottish bakery items. Whether you pop in for Les Aperitifs: a glass of your choice of beverage with some delicious appetisers, or dine in the bright and spacious restaurant, the food is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. At the deli counter you can also buy fresh bread, pastries, French and Scottish cheeses, charcuterie, tapenades, soup, salad, savoury and sweet crêpes and many more delicious products. The menu changes regularly and features dishes such as roasted duck breast with sautéed chanterelle mushrooms, Madeira sauce and root vegetables, and the fish and shellfish bourride, which is a rich stew of smoked haddock, salmon, cod and mussels in seafood velouté. Try one of the divine ever-changing desserts, perhaps a tarte au citron: lemon tart served with Chantilly cream and strawberry coulis, or sample a selection of cheeses and biscuits from the delicatessen for a delicious after-dinner treat. With regular gourmet events scheduled, such as cheese tastings, wine sampling evenings and opportunities to try the best of regional French cuisine, Brasserie Les Amis is a fantastic place to meet new people through a shared love of food and drink.
