Boardwalk Beach Club
Conveniently located just three miles north of the city centre, Boardwalk Beach Club NW is the ideal spot from which to escape the busy city and unwind. Perched right on Silverknowes Beach’s beautiful promenade, the café boasts unrivalled views of the stunning beach, with rolling countryside in the distance – there’s no better place to enjoy Edinburgh’s beauty. Stop by after exploring the surrounding area, which boasts plenty to see and do, such as Cramond Foreshore’s three miles of promenade and cycleway, Cramond Island, and Lauriston Castle and its lovely Japanese botanical gardens. The café is also a great place to take your dog after a run on the beach, or to refuel after taking part in Edinburgh’s Park Run which goes right past Boardwalk Beach Club every Saturday morning. There’s ample outdoor space with over 300 seats and fleece blankets for chilly days, while dog treats, bowls of fresh water and dog ties make Boardwalk Beach Club a popular place for dog groups and walkers, as well as families, cyclists, tourists and locals alike. The area is often heralded by runners as one of the most scenic parkrun destinations in the UK.
Boardwalk Beach Club opened its doors in April 2016 and has already gained an enviable reputation for its friendly service, warm atmosphere and delicious food, as well as being winner of Best Café and Deli by Edinburgh Evening News in 2018 and a nomination for Best Informal Eating Experience at VisitScotland’s Scottish Thistle Awards. Indulge in tasty treats like sumptuous cakes, ice cream, and rich hot chocolate. Visitors rave about the Stromboli, which come with various fillings such as sundried tomato and chorizo. There’s plenty on offer to keep hunger at bay after a busy day spent exploring Scotland, including sandwiches made using bread from local artisan bakers, soup, panini, bacon rolls, and hotdogs. You can also pop in for a comforting tea, or coffee made from delicious Illy coffee and make sure you try the strawberry Bellini or the gin and tonic cakes and traybakes. The locally made ice cream is perfect for a hot sunny day.
The views alone make Boardwalk Beach Club a destination worth seeking out, while the tasty food, relaxed ambience and lovely staff will ensure that you’ll return time and time again. Boardwalk Beach Club has been recognised by The Scottish Parliament for helping to rejuvenate the stunning area.
