The Prince of Wales
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Maypole, Hoath, Canterbury, CT3 4LN
The Prince of Wales is the epitome of a classic English pub. Award-winning publicans Marc and Carol Perkins pride themselves on the food they serve, which is all produced by a team of talented chefs. Chef's specials like pan-seared scallops, served with a green salad and crayfish tails, finished with a pinot grigio cream, and chicken breast stuffed with chopped chorizo and chives, topped with a tomato cream and served with hand-cut chips will no doubt vie for your attention. And at lunchtime you can expect to be treated to dishes like lamb's liver and bacon, served with mashed potato, rich onion gravy and bacon, and oven-baked goat's cheese served on a hot new potato, red onion and balsamic salad - just one of the vegetarian options available. A range of vegan meals are also on offer. Traditional roast dinners with all the trimmings are served on Sundays.
Why not eat alfresco in the spacious garden, which features a large patio and grassy area. With hanging baskets overflowing with flowers and outdoor heaters for those chillier evenings, this is one of the pub's most prized assets - and rightly so.
