Situated in the historic Black Swan Hotel in the picturesque market town of Helmsley, The Gallery offers a selection of exciting menus. All of the menus infuse the best of Yorkshire ingredients with creative food combinations, exciting taste bud-popping flavours and modern simplicity. Made up of three conjoined buildings, The Black Swan comprises a black and white Tudor house on the left of the terrace, a Georgian house in the middle, and a spacious Elizabethan house to its right. During the day, the venue doubles as an art gallery and showcases works from Helmsley Galleries’ significant commercial collection. The Gallery welcomes art lovers during the day to peruse the work on show, and takes on its more functional role as a restaurant in the evening.
The Gallery restaurant holds three AA rosettes and receives visitors from across the country, all keen to sample the delicious modern British food. With a multiplicity of distinct menus to choose from, The Gallery offers something for everyone, including the beautiful à la carte menu which consists of traditional Yorkshire dishes such as Whitby lemon sole and ribeye steak, as well as sharing dishes such as beef Wellington. They also have an informal seasonal market menu, which garnered the restaurant its rosettes.
