Comprising six historic Grade II listed buildings, Middletons Hotel is located in a peaceful spot in the heart of York’s city centre. Independently owned and steeped in history, Middletons boasts an eclectic mix of 18th-century buildings that have been lovingly restored by the Clark family, and now offer a unique place in which to dine. Although the restaurant and bar, The Sawmill, is situated within the hotel, it’s a one-of-a-kind attraction within its own right. You’ll find the restaurant nestled in the secluded courtyard garden of Middletons Hotel.
At The Sawmill you will find gastronomic delights and top-notch provenance. Bold flavours and flawless presentation don’t go a miss either. Head chef Peter Toth works closely with local Yorkshire suppliers and is able to source the best seasonal produce, creating a quintessentially British menu that keeps up-todate with modern trends, while still offering Yorkshire classics. This means there’s something for everyone on the menu.
Hungarian-born Peter is no stranger to the hotel and has been part of the brigade since 2012. After four years of honing his culinary skills in two AA-rosette- awarded establishments, Peter is proud to be back, this time heading up his own team and putting The Sawmill on Yorkshire’s culinary map.
If unforgettable cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere is what you desire, The Sawmill at Middletons Hotel is the place to be.
