Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
My partner and I chose from the specials board, which offered a varied array of dishes. After much deliberation, I opted for the homemade curry - a chicken rogan josh served with white rice, naan bread and a moreish mango chutney, while my partner chose the lamb shank and mashed potato with minted gravy, served with a choice of two vegetables. Our delicious-looking meals were brought to the table by the chef herself. My curry, bursting with Eastern flavours, proved to be an excellent choice - definitely one for spicy-food lovers. My partner's tender lamb literally fell off the bone, revealing the succulent pink meat on the underside - it was cooked to perfection, with fluffy and light mashed potato and perfectly cooked vegetables to complement.
We were impressed that two different yet both completely authentic dishes were served from the same kitchen - a clear reflection of the expertise behind the diverse menu. The chef believes 'if you do something, do it right', and certainly stays true to her word. The Quarry Inn is getting everything right, from the fantastic food to the wonderfully convivial welcome.
