Ninos L Incontro
The comprehensive menu boasts a host of old favourites, the odd classic and some welcome new additions, as well as a daily specials board packed full of culinary treats. 'Coppa di Gamberetti' (prawn cocktail) features the plumpest of tiger prawns nestling on a bed of fresh salad artfully drizzled with Marie Rose sauce. Full marks - I honestly haven't tasted one better. The 'Funghi Mafioso' also makes an offer that it would be unwise to refuse - garlic mushrooms, tomato and prawns, oven baked and seasoned by a skilled hand. Mains are equally easy on the tastebuds with Nino's monkfish - chunks of tasty monkfish cooked with prawns and mussels in a garlic, white wine and lemon sauce - proving without doubt to be the catch of the day. Though 'Pollo Dijon' - fresh chicken breast in a Dijon mustard, cream and mushroom sauce - is a surefire winner on all levels. Make room for desserts and you can treat yourself to 'Torta Caprese', a rich chocolate cake laced with almonds and brandy, or perhaps a classic 'Tiramisu' - suitably naughty and wonderfully flavoursome. A fine way to round off a lovely meal.
Prices are very reasonable with offers available throughout the week. Wines are a distinct pleasure; I can heartily recommend the Chianti 2006 - very good on its own or the perfect accompaniment to food. For all this, and excellent coffee and liqueurs too, I for one will be back very soon. Call and book a table today and I promise dining here will become something of a pleasurable habit you can't kick.
