56 Langsett Road, Sheffield, S6 2UB
With a tram route on its doorstep and the train station less than ten minutes' drive away, The Hillsborough Hotel is a handy place to stay for those visiting the city. After seeing the sights and exploring the surrounding countryside, tourists can return to The Hillsborough to enjoy some hearty food and ales. Locals also flock here to do the same - they are particularly fond of the ales made in the pub's onsite microbrewery, Woodstreet Brewery, which produces six core beers and two specials each month. Alongside four of the pub's own brews, you'll also find four regularly changing guest ales.

Michelle Douglas runs both Douglas Catering and the kitchen at The Hillsborough, and works closely with proprietor Alison to create a wide-ranging menu of traditional favourites. Perhaps choose bread and oil or nachos to start - both of which are regulars' favourites - followed by a popular main such as classic fish and chips or hearty dumpling stew. The satisfying steak and ale pie is also a must-try - other restaurateurs in the area were so impressed by it that they too have their pie filling supplied by The Hillsborough. Finish with sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownie. Be sure to take advantage of the two meals for £10 offer available from Monday to Saturday, and drop by to enjoy the live music hosted every other weekend
