Whether you're after an à la carte feast, a lunchtime snack or just a refreshing pint at the bar, The Bay Tree has it all. Just 20 minutes from York city centre and ideally located in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, The Bay Tree is more than your typical country pub.

The candlelit tables, roaring fires and stone-flagged floors lend the place a contemporary yet rustic charm. The covered outside seating area, surrounded by a mature lawned garden and electric heaters, provides a truly enchanting setting in which to wine and dine - no matter what the weather. The food is superb and the variety on offer leaves you spoilt for choice. To start, why not try the homemade fishcakes served with tartare hollandaise, or the black pudding and scallops drizzled with truffle oil? For the main course, the vegetable cannelloni topped with Parmesan cheese and served with a side salad is particularly delicious, as is the slow-cooked lamb rump with spinach rosti and sweet potato. To finish off, the classic creme brulée or the traditional Bakewell tart served with vanilla ice cream are well worth leaving room for. The Bay Tree provides all the ingredients for a very memorable dining experienc
