The Hambleton Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The Hambleton Inn has been at the heart of this sporting history for some 300 years and is today owned by Paul and Tracy Cooper. The last few years have seen this successful team head a full refurbishment and achieve the runner-up position in the 'Pub Food of the Year' category in the Flavours of Hambleton awards.
Head chef and proprietor Tracy's many years of experience show in every dish; she has clearly invested heaps of hard work and taken great pleasure in compiling her menu. Amongst her dishes, you'll find delights such as king prawn skewers with sweet chilli sauce, and chef's favourite bacon and mushrooms in a creamy garlic and herb sauce. All starters are served with freshly baked bread. From the mains menu, you may find yourself craving the Hambleton's famous steak and ale pie; alternatively you can select from the extensive daily changing specials board.
Expect to see a number of draught beers on tap, like Black Sheep Brewery's Best Bitter, Riggwelter or Rudgate Ruby Mild. Or if you favour the grape over the grain, then peruse the weekly specials wine list. This walker's paradise is worth visiting for the absolutely stunning countryside alone; and with reasonable prices, a new alfresco dining area (opening July 2010) and offers such as a bargain fish and chips takeaway during the week, The Hambleton Inn provides plenty of reasons to return.
