Recently voted among the best Mediterranean restaurants in Leeds, La Cafetiere has been providing locals and visitors with a little taste of sunshine for over 20 years. Set between the university campuses, it is a student favourite offering delicious homemade food at attractive prices. Laid-back styling, Van Gogh artwork, candlewax sculptures and a ceiling painted with a constellation of star signs appeal to a diverse clientele and add a touch of magic to the surrounds. A colourful sharing plate of stuffed vine leaves, falafel, olives, salad and dips proves a perfect starter. The couscous and roast chicken, drenched in a spicy tomato and onion sauce, is an excellent new addition to the main courses. My wife raved about her plate of dolmas, koftas and salad. La Cafetiere isn’t licensed to serve alcohol, but the delicious fruit smoothies were a perfect alternative. Delicate baklava brought our meal to a beautifully sweet finale and put a great big smile on our faces.
