Since opening their doors in November 2015, Eighteen64 has built a reputation among locals as being the go-to place for a bite to eat and tipple after work with friends. There’s plenty of space to sit comfortably, listening to the soul tunes that fill the room. The relaxed ambience will make you want to return time and again.
Head chef Andrew cooks fi ne breakfasts, fresh lunches and flavoursome mains. From the à la carte menu, choose a starter of chargrilled halloumi with peppery rocket, crunchy toasted almonds and a honey dressing. The bistro’s philosophy of serving quality, lip-smacking dishes can be tasted in the main of roasted monkfish wrapped in serrano ham with pappardelle pasta, chilli and spinach. Vegetarians will delight in the chargrilled polenta with Mediterranean veggies and Napoli sauce. If you’ve got enough room left, check out the dessert menu for the likes of poached pear tatin with calvados cream and chocolate marquise with stewed fruit. It isn’t just the food that’s given attention at Eighteen64 though – there’s a bustling cocktail bar that stocks a great selection of fine gins, wine, cocktails and spirits.
