The Yorkshire Hotel
Centrally situated in the stylish spa town of Harrogate, The Yorkshire Hotel is an impressive Regency-period building, restyled to offer guests all the modern comforts. Ideal for casual dining or longer stays to enjoy the delights of the area, this favoured establishment has long been a popular destination for visitors.
Comfortably seated in the elegant and welcoming restaurant, we chose from imaginative menus that showcased the best of Yorkshire cuisine and produce, and from a drinks list that featured speciality cocktails, fine wine and a selection of ale. Yorkshire game terrine accompanied by toasted sourdough and grape chutney proved a tasty and beautifully presented starter, as was smoked mackerel pâté with lemon mayo and chive crostini. Our main courses were superb – golden pillows of butternut tortellini with crisp sage leaves and butternut purée, and rich and tender roast haunch of venison on a bed of celeriac mash. My dessert of sticky banoffee pudding was a delicious twist on an old favourite, while my partner’s cheeseboard was a real delight: a selection of the best Yorkshire cheeses, exquisitely presented with celery, grapes, biscuits and fingers of fruit cake.
The Yorkshire Hotel is also reputed to serve an excellent light lunch, afternoon tea and Yorkshire tapas selection. Whether you are in Harrogate to visit the International Centre, explore the Yorkshire Dales or just to do a spot of shopping, The Yorkshire Hotel can cater to all your needs and is certain to impress.
