Sasso Ristorante is named after a small Italian town with a heritage deeply rooted in culinary tradition. Located just outside of the region dubbed 'the heart of Italian cooking', it's also the birthplace of the restaurant's head chef and co-owner, Stefano Lancellotti. Together with his wife Sara, Stefano brings the cuisine of his home town directly to Harrogate, offering guests an authentic taste of Italy.

An artisan when it comes to making great pasta, this passionate chef cuts no corners, going as far as to import speciality eggs straight from his home country. This way, his fresh egg pasta has all the colour and flavour of any you'd find in restaurant kitchens in Italy. In fact, the whole menu is heavily influenced by this particular region, and much of the produce used, such as the balsamic vinegar, Grana Padano, Parmesan and Parma ham, all come from here.

It's this attention to detail and careful selection of ingredients, along with Stefano's exquisite homemade dishes, that has made Sasso an award-winning establishment - listed in the Michelin Guide for well over a decade, as well as The Good Food Guide. There is a great selection of antipasti to kick off your meal, after which the fresh pasta is an obvious must-try - the lobster ravioli comes especially recommended. Try it yourself, and be sure to top it with some of that fantastic Parmesan too.
