The historic Yorkshire Hussar Inn has been captivating diners since the start of 2016 thanks to its outstanding bill of fare and warm, welcoming service. Inside, a tasteful contemporary refurbishment has been sensitively undertaken, maintaining the original flagstone tiles and exposed wooden beams in order to create an inviting and atmospheric environment in which to dine. The Hussar’s menus are as diverse as they are well considered. Think Moroccan lamb shank served with chickpeas, figs, harissa and sweet potato mash, perhaps followed by apple and cinnamon crumble. A selection of pub classics is also available. Prepared with precision and served with the same culinary flair as the rest of the menu, they offer visitors the chance to sample some truly British staples, such as beer battered fish with thick-cut chips, and butcher’s beef and ale pie served with buttery mash and seasonal veg.
