Take a trip to the Wild West when visiting this American-themed restaurant just a saunter from the promenade. Memorabilia and Western decor set the scenefor relaxed and informal dining, where menu specials may include kangaroo burgers and reindeer steak. We shared the Buffalo’s nacho platter, with stacks of tortilla chips smothered with melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños and chilli. My Alaskan salmon chargrilled with Cajun spices was succulent and flavourful. Our side of Tornado Fries was a novel idea – a long skewered coil of fried golden potato. My companion’s choice of surf ‘n’ turf featured tender steak and king prawns, alongside tasty accompaniments of fries and crispy battered onion rings. For dessert we went with Mississippi mud pie, which was superb and intensely chocolatey, smooth and indulgent. Buffalo’s offers something different: premium quality American food that’s imaginatively presented.
