Following a major and sympathetic refurbishment to this Grade II listed Georgian town house, husband-and-wife team Richard and Lindsey Johns opened Artisan in 2004. Situated just minutes from the iconic Humber Bridge within the small town of Hessle, the restaurant is well-connected to the M62 motorway and all other major road links. Chef Richard lovingly creates all food from scratch and works to incredibly high standards. His everyday mission is to achieve and go beyond customer expectations, which is fully complemented by Lindsey's exceptional front-of-house skills. As this intimate restaurant can seat 16 guests, diners can enjoy being almost personally cooked for by Richard. The multi-course set dinner menu can change regularly to encompass the best of the day's produce. Richard goes to great lengths to source the very best ingredients, including wild fish and organic meat, fruit and vegetables. The food is served alongside an outstanding wine list which is personally compiled by Lindsey. She also offers a bespoke non-alcoholic drinks list. Nearly all dietary requirements can be accommodated upon booking, and vegetarian guests will often have a menu created for them. The cuisine is made with no artificial ingredients or chemicals, and there are tasty options for guests on a gluten-free diet. Quite simply, there need to be more restaurants like Artisan. *Price represents the cost of the four-course set menu. *
