The Earl of Doncaster Hotel
Upon entering The Earl of Doncaster hotel, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d been transported back to the roaring ‘20s. The beautifully decorated Café Bar Concerto restaurant provides the perfect backdrop to a memorable meal, and is situated just 550 yards from the town centre and racecourse. Visit for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner and make the most of the fantastic cocktail bar and extensive modern British menus. The chef clearly knows his craft, as the wagyu burger I chose was perfectly cooked and well-matched with sweet potato fries. My dining partner chose the flavoursome sirloin steak, served medium rare. The three-tier afternoon tea stand is brimming with freshly made treats for a traditionally quaint experience. Specialities include Sunday lunch and a grill night every Friday. You can also stay overnight in one of 73 uniquely designed rooms. With Art Deco styling and elegance in abundance, the hotel is the perfect place for a wedding reception, anniversary or a romantic weekend away.
