Bizzie Lizzie's - Swadford Street, Skipton
Fish and Chips
Bizzie Lizzie’s is a delightful family-run business with two restaurants in Skipton. For those who want to enjoy the fantastic food but don’t have time to stop, the team also runs a popular takeaway service. We visited the Swadford Street branch and were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. We were seated by the window, where we enjoyed picturesque views of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal lit up by streaming winter sun.
The menu was bursting with tasty options and we decided to share a generously proportioned starter of crisp fritto misto; comprising salt and pepper squid, scampi, chilli and mango prawns with panko breadcrumbs, deliciously light cod goujons and fresh salad, paired with lemon mayonnaise and piri piri dip. To follow, I opted for deliciously flaky cod and chips. My companion plumped for a dish from the specials board - cod goujons served in a brioche bun with calamari rings, chips and tartare sauce. To round off your meal, there’s a wide range of desserts including lemon meringue pie, sundaes and gluten-free puddings. At our server’s recommendation, we selected a seasonal sherry trifle for two – a delightful concoction of boozy raspberries and fresh cream. Bizzie Lizzie’s also offers gluten free fish and chips cooked in sunfl ower oil, alongside fish and chips served in beef dripping at the Swadford Street restaurant.
