Dating back to the 15th Century and reputed to be the oldest public house in Warwick, The Roebuck Inn sits comfortably in the town's oldest shopping street that links Warwick Castle and St John's Museum.

Heavily half-timbered and with many original features, this historic inn is every bit a part of England's heritage as the traditional ales it serves. It was tastefully refurbished two years ago by new owners Mike Scott and his wife Dilia. The ever-popular 'lite bites' menu offers a whole host of tasty choices for those who are pushed for time, including baked ham with mustard mayonnaise and hummus with roasted red pepper and rocket, served on freshly baked white or granary bread.

For visitors with a little more time, the 'hot bites' menu has a tempting selection of dishes, such as crispy duck spring rolls with plum sauce, steamed mussels with coconut, chilli and coriander cream, or a succulent Warwickshire beef burger, served with a portion of the best chunky chips I've ever tasted.

There's also a selection of salads for those watching their waistlines and extra side orders for those who aren't. Don't forget to check the chalk board for the chef's daily specials, or visit The Roebuck on a Sunday, when a wonderful tradtional roast is served. And, if you're lucky enough to visit when the weather is fine, there's a delightful covered patio area, perfect for a spot of alfresco dining.
