The Dining Room
The magnificent Lutyens-style Mallory Court hotel and spa sits proudly amongst ten acres of formal lawns and vegetable gardens. After taking a walk around the stunning grounds, we settled down in the drawing room next to a roaring fire, and warmed up with a glass of fine Champagne. The Dining Room is an extremely elegant setting for even more impressive cuisine, and features a wall of ornate oak panelling, tables laid with crisp white linen and fresh flowers. Head chef Paul Evans and his team create bold, seasonal dishes using produce from the estate’s own vegetable garden, and cater for all palates and dietary requirements. It’s no wonder The Dining Room has been showered with accolades including three AA rosettes. We opted for the highly recommended tasting menu, and were delighted by the likes of cured Loch Duart salmon with avocado, garden radish and cucumber essence, and salt chamberaged venison with salsify, parsnip and preserved blackberry jus. Each course was outstanding, bursting with flavour, and crafted with the finest ingredients. The accompanying wines were expertly chosen, perfectly complementing the flavours of each course.
The attentive, passionate staff, with their extensive food and wine knowledge, were always on-hand and made our dining experience an unforgettable one. We’re already eager for our return to sample the next seasonal menu.
