The Littleton is a gastronomic gem situated within the new Business and Sports Hub of Walsall College. It offers visitors top-end fare at a fraction of the price.
Diners can choose from a variety of set menus, from which we chose to sample the five-course dinner option. Parmesan cheese straws, basil popcorn and tomato hummus proved the perfect appetisers to whet our appetites. This was followed by delightful ham hock terrine, pineapple salsa and goat’s cheese bonbons, which were incredibly moreish. We were presented with a number of delicious options to enjoy for our main course, and after much deliberation I plumped for the seared fillet of sea bass. It arrived beautifully presented, served alongside mussel chowder, buttered spinach and a fish croquette. Meanwhile, my partner chose the 48-hour slow-cooked beef rib, paired with smoked bacon Dauphinoise. Both courses were wonderful, and we devoured every bite. A pre-dessert hinted at the sweet delights that followed – zingy lemon tart with lavender honeycomb for me, and flavoursome rhubarb and ginger baked Alaska for my partner.
Our meal was creative and delicious at every stage and service was seamless from start to finish. We highly recommend The Littleton for those in search of a five-star meal.
