Hooray's British Gelato Kitchen
Mother-and-daughter team, Sara and Sasha Young, have taken cues from foodie encounters during their travels – like stumbling upon an incredible little gelatoria in Rome, and visiting a quirky ice cream cocktail bar in Vietnam – to create a wonderfully varied menu. The result is Hooray’s British Gelato Kitchen; a devilishly delicious haunt that’s the perfect place to satisfy your sweet-tooth, be it with a sundae, a gelato-topped waffle, a cup of locally roasted gourmet coffee or, if you’re in the mood, a frosty treat with a little alcoholic kick.
Hooray’s produce over 38 flavours of artisan gelato on-site, and they’re always experimenting, churning-out treats like their pistachio and lemon meringue flavours. The menu of sundaes is a heavenly list of fruity, chocolatey and nutty delights and features wonders like the caramel cappuccino, which comprises espresso and salted caramel gelato with chunks of Italian cantuccini, topped with whipped cream, chocolate flakes, coffee and caramel sauce, and finished off with an amarettini biscuit. If you’re in need of a little savoury before you’re ready to take on one of Hooray’s sweets, their range of light bites – like soup of the day and freshly made panini and toasties – are just the ticket.
In the evenings, Hooray’s upstairs area doubles-up as a bar, serving up a decidedly adult range of delights like their Italian granita cocktails. The Hooray’s Wall Banger, a blend of orange granita, vodka and Galliano, is a dangerously quaffable take on a cocktail bar classic. They also cater for all sorts of events and functions and can make any celebration you’re planning just a touch cooler.
