The Inn at Shipley is housed within a quaint Georgian building, which dates back to 1771. It is a haven for both locals and those from further afield, offering a welcoming atmosphere, excellent food and drink, and hospitable service.
The menus are extensive, offering everything from a light bite to a hearty meal and everything in between. You could begin with the crayfish taco with pink grapefruit, pico de gallo salsa and guacamole, or perhaps the aubergine kofta with Mediterranean vegetable and toasted almond salad and refreshing mint yoghurt will tickle your fancy. Next, select from the likes of South Indian-spiced sea bass fillets baked in a banana leaf with coconut and lemongrass rice, and braised pork belly with cauliflower and truffle purée, bubble and squeak croquette and cider jus. Vegetarians are also more than catered for with options such as butternut squash and sage tortellini enhanced by wilted spinach, capers, sunblushed tomatoes and lemon.
Desserts are worth indulging in. Fans of the classics can enjoy the bread and butter pudding with apricot sauce and clotted cream, while chocoholics will be more than satisfied by the triple chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and white chocolate, raspberry and oreo ice cream.
Complementing the food offering is a thoughtfully crafted wine list, which offers something to suit all palates and budgets.
In the summertime, make the most of the lawn and bask in the sunshine, refreshing drink in hand.
