Set in a beautifully converted 250-yearold barn, Galanthus Gallery and Café is the perfect lunchtime retreat. During the winter, follow the beautiful snowdrop walk, and in summer, take a wander through the wonderfully tranquil sculpture garden with its duck pond and views across to the imposing Black Mountains. This integrated contemporary art gallery and Café allows visitors to dine in comfort whilst surrounded by artwork, sculptures and jewellery. The weekly-changing menu, displays a combination of British and Mediterranean influences, with starters such as roast pimento soup. Main courses include turkey and bacon herb cobbler and baked field mushrooms stuffed with vegetable risotto, all accompanied by a selection of wines and local ales and ciders For dessert the home-made Galanthus Banoffee pie, with layers of banana and thick toffee is a must, and the St. Emillion gateaux is a chocolate lovers' heaven - try it with a large dollop of creamy home-made ice-cream. The Galanthus Blue, a creamy and flavoursome cheddar, made in the onsite dairy, is a real labour-of-love for owner Catherine Kellett - don't leave without trying it. Whether you want to browse the art gallery, indulge in the Café or simply relax with a glass of wine in the courtyard, Galanthus has it all.
