Lagrill is a spacious steakhouse with bright decor and an eye-catching bar that’s brimming with all your favourite drinks. Louis Antonio, who inspired the restaurant’s concept, combines classic North American cuisine with traditional British flavours to create a uniquely delicious menu.

The starters demonstrate finesse from the kitchen; the trio of the sea cocktail crayfish, prawns and white crab in a lettuce cup is beautifully presented and an ideal way to whet your whistle before tucking into a large, juicy steak. The baked Camembert with bacon and spring onions is a popular sharing starter. For a flavoursome vegetarian option, the asparagus tower – layered asparagus and puff pastry with poached eggs and Mornay sauce – really hits the spot.

Of course, the true measure of any steakhouse is the steak itself and the chef’s ability to cook it to perfection. Lagrill uses the finest cuts and cooks the locally sourced steaks on a charcoal grill. Diners have the choice of bistro rump, Angus sirloin, rib-eye, prime rib and fillet steaks. Grilled tomato, mushrooms and beef dripping chips all accompany your favourite cut. The menu offers a detailed description of each cut of meat, allowing customers to explore the menu and make an informed decision. The likes of wild mushroom, Béarnaise sauce and chilli butter are available to enhance your meal. A popular highlight is the option to add a side of spicy king prawns – a subtle nod to classic surf and turf. Offering much more than just good steak, the menu boasts several chicken dishes, such as the marinated Cajun chicken skewers and roasted poussin. Meanwhile, the sea bass fillet served with Bombay potatoes, roast courgette and mango and coriander sauce is a delectable fish dish. For veggies, the open vegetable Wellington of asparagus and roasted vegetables in puff pastry served with pesto potatoes and arrabbiata sauce is full of flavour.

If you can find room for dessert, and Lagrill regulars would insist that you should, the brandy snap Eton Mess or apple and mixed berry crumble are sure to satisfy your sweet-tooth. Lagrill’s fully stocked bar has an intriguing cocktail list, which includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic tipples. The staff are attentive and friendly, and are more than happy to answer any questions you have about the delicious cuisine served.
