Centenary Lounge

0.5 miles
Railway Station, Moor Street Queensway, Birmingham, B4 7UL
A visit to the Centenary Lounge is like stepping back in time to the Great Western Railway's heyday, when those waiting for their train could take tea and cake in a sophisticated refreshment room. This stunning café was opened in 2009 on the station's 100-year anniversary and is modelled after a 1930s tearoom. While its visitors today may be just as likely to check their emails as read the papers, the Centenary Lounge still offers its diners the best in Art Deco design, including a walnut-panelled interior, classic GWR roundel, replica 1930s tableware (available to purchase) and a genuine Paddington Station fireplace. Whether you fancy a morning caffeine fix with a hearty breakfast, a glass of wine with a light lunch or a cream tea, you'll find it all here, served with a side of Art Deco charm.
