Whether you’re looking to enjoy a leisurely lunch or a relaxed evening meal, the ambient Bar Estilo is well worth a visit. Located centrally beside one of Birmingham’s main canals, this is the perfect place to enjoy a few laid-back drinks – the speciality cocktails and jugs of Sangria are particularly tempting.
From the moment we stepped inside, we found the Mediterranean vibe and welcoming atmosphere warm and inviting. The menu itself was a fiesta of large plates and tempting tapas dishes, and it was mainly the latter selection that attracted our attention. We couldn’t resist the allure of perfectly seasoned prawns pil-pil with garlic and chilli, delicious halloumi fritters with a quince dip, patatas bravas with spicy tomato sauce and alioli, lamb kofta with cool tzatziki, and mini lamb and beef burgers in little brioche buns with all the trimmings. These perfectly portioned small plates are deliciously moreish and just the thing for sharing with a group of friends. Whatever you choose, be sure to sample the delicious Spanish rice on the side. I’d also advise leaving room for dessert. We finished in style with thin crêpes in a warm cinnamon and orange liqueur sauce with vanilla ice cream, and traditional Spanish churros dusted with sugar and served with a pot of decadent chocolate dipping sauce – how indulgent.
Not only did we enjoy top-quality cooking, the courteous, attentive staff made us feel well looked after. An all-round excellent dining experience awaits at Bar Estilo.
