The Lion Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
The 22-cover restaurant is light and airy, with stripped wooden tables laid with slate place mats and fresh flowers. The Exmoor Lounge has a cosy open fire for the cooler months, and The Lion will allow your well-behaved dogs to join you while you eat. The main bar area, with its large log burner, has a homely feel and is the locals' domain, decorated with pictures of village characters going about their daily lives. Just off the bar is a games area with a pool table, darts board, juke box and gaming machines, which can be enjoyed while not straying too far from the bar. The area is also used for live evening entertainment, ranging from guest vocalists to karaoke and discos. A skittles alley is also available for those feeling a little more energetic and wanting to let off some steam.
Phil, Jan and their small friendly team pride themselves on providing well-kept real ales, lagers, spirits and a selection of wines to complement the home-cooked, locally sourced menu they offer. Meat eaters as well as vegetarians are well catered for, with a variety of dishes all cooked to order - meaning if you have special dietary requirements, dishes can be adapted to suit your needs. Expect pub favourites like homemade beef lasagne, fishcakes and light and crispy steak and ale pie. Children are of course most
welcome - there's even a pet lamb that occasionally visits to keep the little ones amused.
