A warm and friendly greeting awaits you at the Rest & Welcome Inn. Pull into the ample parking area and join Dave, Leanne and their team for a pint of local ale inside this smart yet homely inn. With Wrecked and Odyssey to name just a couple, there is plenty of ale to choose from, which regularly changes to ensure maximum variety. There’s even a low-alcohol beer for the abstemious.
The food is delicious and freshly cooked to order, using only the best quality produce from local suppliers. Starters range from £4.50 to £5.95 – our goat’s cheese and tomato puff was especially tasty, and the prawn cocktail, made with plump, succulent prawns, was bursting with flavour. Perhaps try a tender sirloin steak or the 10oz rump steak – both dishes are reasonably priced at £9.95 on Thursday steak nights. Main courses also range in price, from around £9.50 to £15.50, and those looking for a treat during the daytime can stop by for lunch and choose from a menu of traditional pub food. There is a delicious range of vegetarian dishes available and children are well catered for. Leaving room for one of the homemade desserts is advised, as these showcase fresh seasonal ingredients and are really delicious. Afterwards, sit back, relax and soak up the friendly atmosphere – because the Rest & Welcome Inn lives up to all that its name promises.
