The White Horse Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
Since Cassie Williamson took over the inn, she has turned it into a real village social centre with live music nights, skittle competitions and even a takeaway menu. And being both child and dog friendly, it is an ideal refreshment stop for the inquisitive motorist or weary walker. This comfortable pub offers a warm, friendly welcome and is always filled with locals enjoying real ales from Palmers Brewery of Bridport. This is a good old-fashioned pub, with flagstone floors, comfy barstools and weathered beams - the kind of place where strangers become friends over a pint of ale. Cassie's cooking must be commended - she does her best to tempt even the fussiest eater with her enormous specials board. Expect to find juicy steaks, curries and lasagnes, a delicious Italian fish stew and a wonderful selection of puddings.
The inn has a south-facing garden bordered by a roadside stream with picnic-style seating and even a boules pitch. In the summer months, the country garden is the perfect place to enjoy a pub lunch. And in winter, what better way to spend an afternoon than huddled around the log-burning stove with a bowl of Bullfighter's stew' Absolute bliss.
