Jesters Cafe hasn't been open for long, but has already become known as one of the best cafes in the area. The new owners have years of experience in catering and this is reflected in the menu, which offers excellent value for money and a few surprises here and there - for example, alongside favourite lunchtime fare such as sandwiches and baguettes, you can also try a Dorset Blub, the owner's own creation that is similar to a pasty. I chose the chicken, potato and sweetcorn filling, encased in light, melt-in-the-mouth spelt pastry. My companion, meanwhile, tucked into a satisfying homemade burger topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, mayo and red onion chutney. We finished with homemade chocolate fudge cake and a cream tea. There is a wide selection of drinks, and we enjoyed an iced coffee and a caramel latte alongside our lunch. Jester's is a welcome retreat for shoppers and sightseers - well-behaved dogs are welcome too
