Set in beautiful countryside near the Jurassic coastline, The New Inn at Eype offers fantastic views, a warm welcome and fresh locally sourced food. All of the meat served at this cosy pub comes from the family's adjacent farm, making this little gem all the more unique. Dedicated to delivering the freshest daily produce to your plate, the team
at The New Inn also source fish and vegetables locally. Having dined here once, we're sure to return to sample more from the ever-changing menu.

We started with melt in the mouth Panko-style squid rings and garlic mushrooms, served with creamy Dorset cheese sauce. Thoroughly impressed with the quality of the starters, we moved on to the main course. I was sorely tempted by the traditional scampi dish but was keen to try the beef from the farm next door so opted for an organic steak burger. Served with onion rings, chips and salad, this hearty burger was one of the best I've ever tasted. My partner's fish pie also came in a generous serving, and the quality of the ingredients was clear. With huge chunks of succulent fish smothered in creamy sauce and a cheesy mash topping, this warming dish is made for brisk winter days. As we watched the sun set over the valley, we shared a superb banoffee pie with ice cream. The local cheese and chutney selection went down well with other diners, so we're keen to sample that on the first of our many return visits
