Sandy Park Inn
Sandy Park Inn is a welcoming family-run country pub situated on the edge of Dartmoor. Diners can choose between the comfort of the cosy dining area and the lively atmosphere of the main bar. My partner began with a starter of tasty potted lamb with homemade chutney and toast, while I chose the delicious combination of herb-crusted field mushroom and wilted spinach. To follow, my pan-fried fillet of sea bream was perfectly accompanied by the delicate flavours and textures of salmon and asparagus tagliatelle. My partner opted for wonderfully succulent slow-braised ox cheek served with hearty horseradish mash, red cabbage and red wine sauce. Vegetarian options are always available, as are lighter meals such as panini and ploughman’s. For a more private evening the snug seats parties of up to ten. In the summer the garden affords fantastic views for al fresco diners across the Teign Valley towards Castle Drogo. Make sure you don’t miss this gem.
