Overlooking an ancient stone fountain, a weaver's and an organic food shop, this converted 19th-century blacksmith's forge is now a beautiful café in the heart of the Dartmoor village of Chagford (the Sunday Telegraph's Best Rural Place to Live in Britain 2015). The Old Forge prides itself on the quality of its food, which is homemade and locally sourced wherever possible, as well as its fine locally-roasted coffees and loose-leaf teas. As a result, the café has received high praise and many accolades including first place in an independent review of over 150 cream teas across Devon, and named one of the best places in the county for a full afternoon tea stand.
