The Bickford Arms is a charming 17th-century pub and bed and breakfast in the historic market town of Holsworthy, only a short drive from Dartmoor and the stunning beaches of the North Devon coast. Besides offering 11 comfortable and spotless en-suite rooms that have earned it a top rating on LateRooms, the Bickford Arms serves great pub fare such as steak and ale pie and Doombar-battered fish and chips, and more refined specials, all freshly made from produce that is locally sourced wherever possible. There is a tempting grazing menu of smaller dishes such as honey and mustard-glazed chipolatas and whitebait, and some gloriously old-fashioned homemade puddings, including jam suet sponge and chocolate fudge cake. On Sunday you can enjoy a very reasonably priced carvery, with smaller portions available for children, as well as blackboard specials. The friendly staff are also happy to cater for private parties and corporate functions.
