The Ferry Inn
Pubs and Bars with Restaurants
In the capable hands of head chef Dominic Knight (formerly of The Savoy in London), The Ferry's restaurant offers locally sourced, freshly prepared food, from starters such as toasted Kentish huffkin topped with chargrilled mushroom, pumpkin and goat's cheese; and Ray Bay scallops in Thai butter with salad and hand-cut chips; to popular mains dishes such as rack of Romney Marsh lamb accompanied by local vegetables; Dover sole with cream and dill sauce with zesty new season potatoes; and Ferry chicken salad with peanut butter and sweet chilli sauce. A selection of freshly caught fish is available all year round, all cooked to perfection, and locally sourced game is also featured throughout the autumn and winter. The dessert menu changes regularly, but expect such delicious puddings as cinnamon and honey cheesecake and summer strawberry slice. An extensive selection of award-winning ales and fine wines is available in both the restaurant and bar areas.
You can visit The Ferry's website for up-to-date menus and the latest specials, and you can also find out about the themed food nights that run throughout the autumn and winter, as well as the Mediterranean barbecues and other food events at weekends during the spring and summer period. In all cases it is strongly advised to book online or call to reserve a table, as the restaurant is usually very busy. A loyalty card will be available soon, providing discount dining at this Tudor Inns pub.
