In the heart of the quaint village of Kenton, a few minutes' drive from Powderham Castle and the scenic coastline, The Dolphin Inn is a classic village pub and proud of it. It has recently been taken over by new management, and a refreshed food menu has been introduced which manages to balance delicious home-cooked food with great prices. As The Dolphin is a free house, you'll find a wide variety of wines, lagers, ciders and real ales to enjoy in the homely atmosphere - including at least one local ale on draught. Similarly, the menu provides an array of traditional treats. Generously filled jacket potatoes and sandwiches are offered alongside the specials board and hearty pub favourites including steaks, prime pizzas and a curry of the day. If visiting on a Sunday try the full carvery - two quality meats with crispy parsnips and potatoes, creamy cauli flower cheese and plenty more besides, all smothered in rich gravy. A children's menu means The Dolphin is great choice for a family outing, and a convenient takeaway service is also available for those who prefer home comforts. The Dolphin hosts live bands and karaoke on Saturdays and Bank Holidays, and provides free parking in the nearby village car park, free Wi-Fi, a pool table, a quiz and fruit machine, dart board, pub games for all ages, a recently replanted outside patio and always, without exception, a warm and friendly atmosphere. Dogs are also welcome.
